Trichloroacetic acid has been used:for protein precipitationas a component in the extract solution used for the measurement of malondialdehyde and glutathioneto precipitate the transfected and treated cells in [3H]-thymidine incorporation assay


Traditionally used to precipitate protein. Has been used to determine protein concentration by quantitative precipitation. Used as decalcifier and fixative in microscopy.


Biochem/physiol Actions


TCA might act as a carcinogen, targeting liver. It might be used as an acid decalcifying agent. TCA helps in nuclear staining.
