TWS119 favors the ??T cells survival and proliferation by activating the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway. It also promotes the expression of T-cell factor 1 (TCF1) and modulates cytokine production.

TWS119 is a potent Glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β) inhibitor that can induce neurogenesis in embryonic stem cells (ESCs).
